So I finally got the old Willys ready for some paint. I spent many evenings w/ Bondo and my Dewalt Orbital Sander to get her ready for black and I still didn't get it 100% perfect. But I was running out of warm days, so I did the best I could. Here is a little before paint shot, you can see our make shift paint booth. Caroline covered the walls and ceiling with plastic for me. We wetted down the floor and driveway to try and keep it as clean as possible. I also used my Kerosene Heater to heat the garage, the tech sheet for the epoxy primer said we needed at least 68 degrees and we've only been getting up to 60 lately.
Terry was nice enough to loan me his gun and mask, so that I didn't die. It took me about 4 hours to do 3 coats. I painted the tub, hood, fenders, and grill. Inside, out, underneath
, in the tool box, everywhere. I used about 2/3 of a gallon of paint. So the plan is to wet sand it when it warms back up next spring as you can see the Bondo bleeding through and of course I have a couple of places that need to be fixed.
The black is going to look sweet!!

The black is also going to show all that dirt! :)
Welcome to the Brotherhood! Make sure you have that done by Easter so the Brotherhood can roll out! Looks good! The black is sweet!
I like it. Looks like it's coming along. It needs wheels and tires now. Speaking of wheels, did you paint some steel spokes to match?
I'm thinking of some shiny aluminum rims and BFG Krawlers.
