Rattlesnake Carnage

We went out to Rattlesnake yesterday, since we never drive the TJ anymore I wanted to take her out before the Safari to make sure she was in tip top form. Shari, Dad, and Terry went out with us.

Taylor was showing us how to get it done:

Dad was enjoying himself:

I thought we were going to just head out and have a nice easy run, but Shari managed to provide some entertainment after a little coaxing from me to let Terry guide her up the far right line of one of the hard spots. She made it, but bent up her tie rod and steering stabilizer in the process. Terry felt really bad as did I. Some really nice guys were coming up behind us and helped us get it straightened out enough to drive with their winch.

This was her face before she learned of the damage and had made it past the worst of the obstacle, she was pretty pleased with her skills:

As she turned out of it, this happened:
I don't think it is supposed to look like that.

We had quite the rescue party going.

Luckily Brady's towing services were open and available and he drove the dirty out with his trailer to haul the unlimited home.

After 6 years of Jeep ownership, she finally ruined something on it. Now she has a good excuse to beef up the steering. Send me a bill Shar.
