This year the rally was few in numbers, I don't know what happened to all you losers but hopefully you can make it next year! :)
Brandon was able to fly in from Florida to go with, so that was fun to have him there. We headed down Friday morning and just took our time getting down there with our kiddo's. We got to Moab around 3 and checked into the campground and got our camp all set up. After setting up camp, we went downtown Moab shopping and went and ate some dinner with mom and dad. Brandon didn't fly in until 10 at night and so he didn't get to Moab until about 2 in the morning on Saturday morning, he slept for a few hours then we were all up by 6:30 ready to go because we were heading to Canyonlands to do Elephant Hill. We got some breakfast at Mickey D's and headed down to Canyonlands with the doors and top off, BAD BAD idea! It was super windy that day and lets just say the 70 miles down to Canyonlands with the top off and 50 mile an hour gusts was not an enjoyable ride! It pretty much blew all day Saturday and we were just glad to get in a canyon or somewhere where the wind was not blowing as much! Our first stop we made was at newspaper rock.

Then we headed into the park and hit the Elephant hill trail.

The trail was not difficult but offered some pretty great scenery and some fun things to see. We all had to take a picture of our rides going through "Squeeze Play"

Then we went and hiked to Chestler Park. Here are some pic's of that adventure. It was pretty cool. There was some people repelling down through the skinny crack while we were there.

Then we went and hiked to the confluence overlook where the Colorado and the Green rivers meet. It was blowing so bad, the river looked like it was flowing the wrong way and you could see the dust just blowing off the banks! So here is the fam at the overlook.

Besides the wind and dust blowing everywhere, Elephant Hill was pretty fun plus Canyonlands has some pretty awesome scenery. After our long awful windy drive back to Moab, we ate dinner and hit the hay. I think the wind pretty much beat us all and we were ready to go to bed!
Sunday we woke up and had some cereal, then we headed off for a Sunday drive to the La Sal's. It was very pretty up there and was freezing cold on top! Vern and Shelly went with us on the Sunday drive.

We got back around 4 and cooked our dutch over dinner and had a good time razzing the losers that missed out on our trip this year!(You know who you are!)
Monday we woke up, packed up camp and took a quick little jaunt up Moab Rim just past the z-turn, and then we came back down to head out so that we could get home at a decent hour so everyone could hang out with the trail boss!

We love our trips to Moab, and thanks to Brandon for coming out to be our trail boss!
