Moab 2014

Well, considering it has been almost a year since anybody as put anything on here, I figured I better update about our Moab trip in May of 2014 before we head down there again hopefully sometime soon! We had a pretty small group in May, but a pretty eventful one! Brandon drove up from New Mexico and met me and my dad there. The first day there, we went on Metal Masher and then went the long way home and came back to Moab on the the dirt road I can't remember the name, but it has the leaning rock on it. If anyone can remember, feel free to comment!

The second day there, we were just going to go up Poison Spider over to Golden Spike and on this new little trail they had just opened that overlooks the arch that people repel from, and then turn around and go back out the way we came, but Brandon decided since we were about half way on the Golden Spike trail, we might as well finish it. So we did, he may have regretted that! We were doing great and got to the crack, as Brandon is going over the crap his Jeep broke, luckily there were some guys there that helped us at least get him all the way over the crack. He needed a weld to fix the problem, but of course we didn't have one with us on the trail, so we used a ratchet strap so that it was somewhat drivable and then when we got to hard spots, my dad would strap him up or he would winch himself up. Needless to say we got off the trail about 11:00 that night and didn't get to go out and eat (something we were all looking forward to). Trent and I left the group as it started getting dark so that Trent could bring back Brandon's truck and trailer so we could just load the Jeep right on the trailer after they got off the trail. That basically ended our trip. Sunday was rainy anyway, so we went on a drive and watched all the natural waterfalls come off the rocks from the rain. Monday, we went downtown and walked around for a bit, ate and Zax (since we didn't get to Saturday night), and headed home since we had one brake. Always good times in Moab!
